Someone got really excited about the Pets’ contest, and did a marvelous job matching dogs to characters. It was so good, that I didn’t feel right keeping it just to myself, and thought I’d share. So here for your enjoyment, is Alexandra Kinsce’s choices for the character’s pet pooches:
Cassie: English Springer Spaniel
Enthusiastic and beautiful, the Springer is friendly, active, and quick to learn.
They are loving and good natured. They prefer being around people. They need someone who can be firm in guiding them. They have a tendency to get into trouble when they are left alone, like our favourite Pythia. :-)
Marco: Leonberger
The gentle giant.
The Leonberger is lionlike in appearance, energetic, smart, and a big dog with big needs. This jumbo-sized dog needs a good deal of exercise, attention, and space, but with the right owner, he can be a friend like no other. This is a sensitive dog who dislikes family arguments. Keep your disagreements private or he may try to intervene. Oh! Marco would never do that!
A well-balanced Leonberger will be highly trustworthy and have incredible patience, even with the most obnoxious children.
Pritkin: Border Collie
The Houdinis of the dog world!
Border Collies need a lot of physical and mental activity. They must have at least two hours of activity a day (I think Pritkin needs more!) in order to stave off behavioral problems. Border Collies are problem-solvers and can be easily trained to do just about any task. Intelligent and observant, mere fences can not keep them from escaping into the world. It is important to keep an eye on your Border Collie at all times!
They often challenge their owner’s authority when they are adolescents. (Poor Rosier. XD) But this breed lives for serving you day in and out. It’s important because our precious Pythia never knows when (and who) will be attacking next.
Jonas: Basset Hound
Basset hounds can sometimes look like sad, old men. In truth, they are active, affectionate and loyal, and because of their pack nature, get along well with people and other pets. They are often referred to as “clown” dogs. They do their own thing, in their own time, and this can often lead to humorous interactions. They are not aggressive to people or other dogs, and despite their desire for independence, are truly pack animals who love the company of others. But Due to his hunting heritage, he has an independent streak (or a stubborn side, as some refer to it).
Billy Joe: Pulli
“It’s not a dog; it’s a puli.”
Puli are self-confident, highly intelligent, and sensitive to their owners. Pulis were developed to make their own decisions in the field, and modern Pulis are still very independent by nature. Many tend to act as babysitters and guardians of children and other animals in the family. He is suspicious of strangers but the excellent partner of shepherds, who can’t be everywhere.
Caleb: German Shepherd
Best known as the strong, courageous and obedient guide dog for the disabled and service dog for police departments, it is valued for its tenacity, intelligence, loyalty and focus. However, while they are first and foremost a herding breed, GSDs can make outstanding, loving family companions. They should be patient, attentive, faithful and determined. They can be bold but should not be unnecessarily aggressive. A German Shepherd Dog can provide years of loyal companionship and faithful service.
Mircea: Romanian Carpathian Shepherd Dog
A natural guardian and courageous, he distinguishes himself by his instinctive and unconditional attachment to the herd and his master. He is a dignified, calm and stable dog. This breed is fearless in defense of its family and charges and will unhesitatingly sacrifice its life in their defense.
Casanova: Poodle
Poodles have a reputation for being “sissies.” They way their hair is cut for shows probably doesn’t help, but Poodles are by no means fragile, shrinking violets. They are sensitive dogs who like to live in peaceful environments. If your house is full of chaos, it can cause your Poodle unnecessary stress.(Especially when your house is full with ancient goddesses!)
Augustine: Chihuahua
The Chihuahua dog breed’s charms include his small size, outsize personality, and variety in coat types and colors. And they are always smart! (And well dressed).
